Jamaica Hurricane Relief – A Container of Hope
A devastating Category 5 hurricane has struck Jamaica, leaving thousands without homes, food, or medical care.
At InTouch, we believe in more than pest control — we believe in community, compassion, and connection.
We’re organizing a cargo container filled with food, clothing, and medical supplies to ship directly to Jamaica, helping families recover and rebuild.
Our Mission in Jamaica
One container. Thousands of lives.
Every donated item – every dollar – helps fill a container bound for Jamaica’s hurricane survivors.
Ports in Kingston have reopened, and while roads remain under repair, our goal is to have the shipment arrive safely and distributed through trusted community partners on the island.
Your support will make this possible!

The Disaster in Real Time
On October 28th, Hurricane Melissa — a catastrophic Category 5 storm — made landfall near New Hope, in the parish of Westmoreland on Jamaica’s western coast. Bloomberg Pan American Health Organization FOX Weather >>
Since then:
- The Jamaican government has declared the entire island a disaster area.
- Infrastructure damage is massive: homes, hospitals, and roads were swept away or severely compromised. Accurate assessments are still in progress.
- The value of damages is estimated at roughly 28-32% of Jamaica’s annual GDP, according to the prime minister.
- Many communities remain isolated; power and communication outages are widespread, especially in the western region.

More than ever, the need is urgent — for food, clean water, medical aid, clothing and safe shelter. By contributing now, you’re responding to an evolving crisis and helping bring hope to those in immediate need.
How else can you help?
Whether you’re a business, community group, or individual, there are many ways you can help us bring relief to Jamaica. InTouch is coordinating a full container of food, water, medical supplies, and essential goods for families devastated by the recent Category 5 hurricane.
We welcome every form of support – from corporate partnerships and warehouse space to bulk donations, volunteer time, or simply sharing our mission online. Even small acts of kindness add up to something powerful when we work together.
If you’d like to contribute in any special way, sponsor freight costs, or offer professional assistance (logistics, transport, communications, or medical expertise), please reach out using the form below. Our relief coordination team will review your message and respond promptly.
Together, we can ensure that this container of hope reaches the people who need it most – safely, quickly, and with love.

Our Sponsors
Our sponsors play a critical role in making this possible. By becoming a sponsor, your business or organization helps accelerate recovery, restore stability, and provide long-term support for impacted communities. Sponsorship funds directly support logistics, shipping containers, bulk supplies, transportation, equipment, and on-the-ground distribution efforts.
Why Become a Sponsor?
- High-impact contribution – Your sponsorship directly fuels shipments of food, medical supplies, clothing, and emergency essentials to the hardest-hit regions.
- Transparent reporting – Our public progress system tracks funding, supplies, logistics, and project milestones so sponsors can see exactly where support is going.
- Brand visibility & community recognition – Sponsors are featured on our website in tiered placements (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze), helping your brand stand out as a leader in humanitarian support.
- Partnership that matters – Your support directly affects real families on the ground in Jamaica, providing hope where it’s needed most.
Make a Difference That Lasts
Whether you’re helping fund a single shipment or supporting ongoing monthly relief efforts, every sponsorship strengthens the mission and brings critical aid to families recovering from severe hardship.

FAQs – Jamaica Hurricane Relief
What kind of help is most effective right now?
Cash to trusted responders is usually the fastest, most flexible aid. It avoids shipping delays and lets partners buy exactly what’s needed on-island. Unsolicited goods can clog logistics (“the second disaster”). We’re taking both funds and targeted goods only.
What goods are actually needed?
Priority: shelf-stable food, potable water/filters, medical & hygiene kits, baby formula/diapers, tarps, flashlights/batteries, and cleaning/WaSH items. Health agencies emphasize safe water/sanitation to prevent disease after hurricanes.
Are there items we should not send?
Avoid expired/short-dated food or meds, perishables needing cold chain, mixed loose clothing bales with no sizes, and anything unlabeled. If in doubt, ask us before you buy—unsolicited/unsortable goods slow response.
Is Kingston Port operating? Can a container get in?
Relief guidance anticipates shipments via Kingston with official coordination. Final routing/port status is monitored through government and partner updates as conditions change. (We’ll post any routing changes on this page.)
What are the customs rules for disaster-relief donations to Jamaica?
Jamaica has announced duty/GCT relief for approved disaster-relief imports. Best practice: consign to ODPEM (Jamaica’s emergency mgmt.) or follow the Commissioner of Customs’ guidance for private consignees with proper documentation and indicative item lists. We’ll handle this paperwork.
What documentation is required for donated goods?
Expect a detailed packing list (quantities, descriptions, realistic values—even if donated), consignee details (often ODPEM), and any letters of donation. We’ll provide templates to donors contributing pallets/bulk.
Can my company sponsor shipping or send bulk supplies (pallets)?
Yes – this is hugely helpful. We’ll align your items with the customs “indicative list,” prepare the packing list, and slot your pallets into the container load plan.
Where will cash donations go?
Funds cover: priority supplies (locally or in Florida), freight, port fees, customs processing for relief, last-mile distribution support, and transparent tracking.
What health risks exist after a Cat-5 hurricane, and why these items?
Expect heightened risks of water-borne, food-borne, respiratory, and vector-borne diseases when water/electricity are disrupted. That’s why water, hygiene kits, and cleaning supplies are high priority.
Can I volunteer?
Yes – use the “Offer Additional Help >>” form (transport, warehouse space, forklifts, sorting, community drives, media outreach). We’ll schedule volunteers based on safety and need.
Can you accept refrigerated items or prescription meds?
No cold-chain items. No prescription medications from individuals. We can accept OTC medical and hygiene items that appear on the approved list.
